My pictures are playing hide and seek today!

This was our car packed up for Gustav...Our poor rabbit is in there somewhere! We created a new picture trail, but I'm not sure why it has decided that it will not post in the "post" section. It seems that it likes the very bottom of this blog today. The good news is all you have to do is scroll down to the bottom and all of the pictures will stay put. They won't scroll away with new posts. The trail we have created is just a few pics of our annual "hurrication." This was our Gustav Get- away. We visited relatives & friends in Ala. Considering the circumstances we had a good time.

Birthday Bliss

My mommy bought a bunch of junk that I love for my birthday. I got bunches of craft stuff like feathers, magnets, beads, key chains, & lots of other stuff. My big day started off with Daddy cooking breakfast for me. I brought chocolate chip cookies to celebrate with my class. After school Grandpa bought me some chicken fries from B.K. For dinner we met MawMaw & PawPaw at Chevy's. After we got home we all worked on making a few bead charms to hang on back packs. I hope my friends like them. We couldn't make one for all the kids, but we made them for the girls I have known for a while.

Paper Dolls

These are the first two paper dolls my parents are making for me. Sorry the scan isn't so clear. Next they will make a cowgirl and a housewife from the 1950's. When they are finished we will have them laminated and I can play with them. Sorry I don't have time to do the jokes & stuff right now. We are going downstairs to make a pumpkin pie. We know it's not the right time of year for pumpkin pie, but we like it anyway!!!

A Gift For Daddy

I have been waiting for three weeks to make this for my daddy. The day has finally come! I hope he loves it. I worked very hard on this one. After I designed it my Mommy had to iron it to set the colors. Here goes....time to wake Daddy from his little Sunday nap.

These are pics of me & some of my friends on awards day at school.
I received a medal for having straight A's for the entire year. I also won the 2nd grade first place trophy for getting the most A.R.P points. I made 2nd place for the entire school. It's Ok though because I only missed it by 8 points and it was a 5th grader who took first place out of 1800 students. I'm still proud of my accomplishments this year. Sorry, no jokes or facts this post. I will get back to it next time. :o)

Everybody Ought To Go To Sunday School!

I love this place! We have so much fun. A couple of Sundays ago we created our own potato characters with real potatoes and decorations. After we finished our teachers used them to act out the lesson story. This week our class is going on a picnic!

A Parade of Characters

Today we had a wonderful time. There was a big parade of characters to end our special reading program. I really enjoyed it. Each child had a teen partner from our local high school. When the big kids came we would get into our groups and read to each other. For our certificate ceremony each student, even the big kids, got to pick a book character to dress like. My partner was "Little Red Riding Hood" and I was "Annie" from one of "The Magic Tree House" books. My other favorite costumes were "Nancy Drew" and "Cat In The Hat." We didn't get a picture of Nancy Drew though.

A Double Feature

tales of a fourth grade nothing by: Judy Blume is a funny book about how to deal with little brothers or sisters. I think it will help me when we adopt another kid. The second book is one that my Mother picked out at Borders. The book is called THE CRICKET IN TIMES SQUARE (a Newbery Honor Book) by: George Selden. She couldn't remember what it was about since it was probably more than 20 years since she read it, but she just remembered that she really liked it. She was right I LOVED this book. Now that I am finished she is re-reading it. With both of our school years wrapping up we haven't had time to do much crafting, but be patient we have lots of plans for the summer!

WORDY GURDY OF THE WEEK: the answer to last week's was splash/cake mix=splatter/batter. This weeks W.G. is petite/toy baby.
COOL FACT: only female mosquitos bite....and mosquitos are attracted to the color blue more than any other color.
JOKE: what do you call a fly with no wings?...............a walk! lol :p
P.S. I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO HEAR COMMENTS FROM SOME OF YOUR KIDS IF YOU ARE READING THIS!!! I DON'T MIND ADULT COMMENTS, BUT I ALSO WANT TO HEAR FROM PEOPLE MY HEIGHT.

The Best Book Ever!

The Bible has a lot of interesting stories in it. This book comforts me when I'm scared. I especially like the story about Moses & Pharao. Another favorite of mine is the story about Elijah & Elisha. If you haven't read it lately you should!
***editors note: when my mother-in-law first gave this Bible story book to her I thought it would be nice for her to read me a chapter a night, but she sat there and read the whole thing cover to cover in one afternoon! As you can see by the cover she has read it many times over.

Wordy Gurdy of the Week: Splash...cake mix (see side bar for example) Congrats Beppi!!! You got last weeks wordy gurdy!!! You win the prize!!!

Cool Fact: Loud, fast music makes termites chew faster.

Joke: What swings through the trees and is very dangerous?......A chimpanzee with a machine gun.

Our Grand Debut!

This is a great book by Beverly Cleary. It starts out with everybody calling her a pest especially her big sister. To top it all off it rains on her first day of kindergarten and she has to wear some ugly hand-me-down boots. Can it get any worse...well you'll just have to read it and find out!

Wordy Gurdy Of The Week: Naughty Boy (see side bar for example.)

Cool Fact: Dolphins sleep with one eye opened.

Joke: What did the beaver say to the tree?.....

....It's been nice gnawing you!
