Seeing Through Different Eyes.....

About two weeks ago, my parents and eye doctor agreed that it would be OK for me to try contact lenses. The rules were:
  • I have to remove my own lenses every night
  • I have to properly clean and store my lenses
  • I have to put them in by myself every day
I PASSED THE TEST!

I love my new contact lenses. Once they are in I don't even notice that they are there. I can see better and I don't have to worry about my glasses falling off when I play. Not to mention, I won't have to lose half the skin off my nose due to my glasses scraping my face when I fall.

I also got a new pair of glasses, but they will be spending most of their time at home.
We decided it was best to have a pair handy, in case my eyes get irritated, or I decide I want to read a book before I go to sleep.

My Best Customer...

Each year my family and I go to "Chevy's".
My Maw Maw(Dad's Mom) celebrates her b-day in August too.
She always gives me her sombrerro.
I have something special that I am trying to raise funds for, so I got an idea.
My Grandpa(who is always my best customer) was recently complaining about working in the hot sun.
PROBLEM SOLVED.
The hat was FREE so the sale was totally profit!

P.S. don't forget to check out what is going on at my school.

About My Book Reviews

I will be posting a new book review each Friday. To view them you must click the "book review" tab located directly below the large picture at the top of this page. These are a part of my homeschool work, but I would love it if you would comment about your recent books.

My 10th Birthday....

I invited a small group of friends to celebrate my big day.

We made candies....

... and crawfish-spinach pizzas.

We played....

...and made snow balls.

After we ate, I got to make my own "Brownie a la Mode"

It contained everything BUT and the kitchen sink!!!

This was definitely one Birthday I will never forget.

P.S. Thank you Miss Linda(owner of the Passionate Platter), for hosting a wonderful party.

My Latest Ponderings....

As we sat having dinner at IHOP, my mind wandered as it often does.
I began to ponder the cubic volume of milk that I had consumed.
My parents and I had a long talk about our differing strategies to solve the problem. At one point the manager of the store came over to ask us what we were doing.
We had a great time, but couldn't agree on a strategy.

When we got home, Mom took out one of her old text books.

Dad searched the net for clues.

I simply began to write down everything we knew for sure....

....in order to come up with a logical solution.

****We never found out if our answers were correct, but thanks to one of the bright young men at our church, we found out that Mom was on the right track. I also learned that I really don't have to worry about problems like this until I'm in Calculus!
